Short answer

Movers we checked quote between 3 and 7 days from Gurgaon to Mumbai. Where in Mumbai you are moving matters: movers say South Mumbai limits commercial vehicles to certain hours, older Bandra and Khar lanes need a smaller vehicle, and high-rise societies expect a lift booking.

How long does the move take?

Mover (own page) Transit stated
BOXnMOVE 3 to 4 days
TheTransporter about 6 days
CratoShift 5 to 7 days

CratoShift says addresses in South Mumbai and the busier western suburbs sit at the longer end of its range, because entry is slower there.

What should I know about delivery in Mumbai?

These points come from movers’ own pages, not from an official notice:

Area What movers say
South Mumbai (Colaba, Worli, Lower Parel) Commercial vehicle entry is limited to certain hours in some areas
Bandra, Khar, Santacruz Some internal lanes are too narrow for the truck
Andheri to Malad High-rises with service lifts; lift booking and society paperwork are standard
Powai Gated township with advance registration of the vehicle and crew
Thane and Navi Mumbai Wider planned roads often make delivery easier

Mumbai is far more humid than Gurgaon. Ask for moisture-resistant wrapping for wooden furniture and electronics. BOXnMOVE also flags heavy-vehicle restrictions and diversions around Ganesh Chaturthi.

What paperwork follows in Mumbai?

  1. Within the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate, your landlord gives the tenant information to Mumbai Police online, at the police station, or by registered post. Mumbai Police say no police NOC is needed to rent a flat.
  2. Thane and Navi Mumbai have their own police commissionerates, so check with the local police there.
  3. A car or bike kept in Maharashtra for more than 12 months must be re-registered there in Form 27, with the NOC from the Haryana RTO.
