Rent by sector in Gurgaon: how to compare before you sign

Reviewed by Anuradha GuptaLast updated How we collect our numbers

Short answer

Rents in Gurgaon vary a lot between sectors, and between furnished and unfurnished flats in the same sector. Our own sample of listings by area and house size is being collected; until it is ready, compare like with like on the listing portals.

Why is there no rent table yet?

We publish rents only from listings we have read ourselves, each with its link and date, and only once there are enough listings for an area and house size. That sample is being collected for Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension Road, Sohna Road, Dwarka Expressway and DLF Phase 1 to 5.

How do I compare rents in the meantime?

Compare Why it matters
Same sector or society Rents differ sharply from one sector to the next
Same house size (1RK to 4BHK) Compare a 2BHK only with other 2BHKs
Same furnishing Furnished flats ask more than semi-furnished or unfurnished ones
Rent alone Keep maintenance and the deposit separate from the monthly rent
Recent listings Older listings may be let or out of date

What comes after you agree the rent?

  1. Agree the term. Leases over one year must be registered under the Registration Act.
  2. Pay the Haryana stamp duty on the agreement.
  3. Your landlord files the tenant police verification.
